Creative Worship Workshops
![]() One of the things I enjoy doing the most is sharing what I've learned about worship and music over the years with other musicians, pastors, worship planners, and members of congregations. Over the past twenty-five years, I have developed and led numerous workshops and retreats for congregations interested in creating more intentional worship rooted in the historical forms of Christian liturgy.
My workshops not only help participants gain a better understanding of the biblical and historical foundations of Christian worship; I also make sure everyone leaves with a wealth of creative ideas to help enliven worship life back in their own communities. Each workshop/retreat can be tailored to meet your local needs...or we can work together to design an experience that fits your specific situation. Please contact me to talk about planning a workshop or retreat. My Philosophy of WorshipIt's my belief that Christian worship is a foretaste of the reign of God. As such, our worship should look as much like God's reign as possible: a diversity of people using a variety of musical, liturgical, and artful styles to give honor and praise to God. Having grown up in the Evangelical Protestant tradition, then serving in Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, and Episcopal churches, and later becoming Roman Catholic, I appreciate the breadth of musical and worship expression found in the various Christian traditions. This broad experience has also given me an appreciation for music and worship that is both rooted in the ancient/historical Christian Tradition and yet relevant to the sounds and styles of our lives today.
